  • Summer Update

Well to update some of our summer info.  As in the last post I had mentioned that there was no water in the pool.....oh boy....well.  When Scott took the winter cover off to have a more "lighted" look.....it looked like a wild animal had gotten in there and tore the bottom to shreds.  We went to the pool store to get the very expense replacement liner and told the girl what it looked like and she said that we were the third ones to come into the store and say that.  She said it must have been a weird winter with ice melting somewhat and freezing and the ice on the bottom starting moving around in there and ripped the bottom all up and then it leaked all the water out....wow!  who would have thought.  So here are some pictures of Scott taking the old liner out.  and let me just say.... the getting the new liner in was no picnic.  In fact it turned into a big nightmare.  Casey and I were in there one morning with freezing cold rain water and hose water up to our ankles trying to inch that thing a little at a time across the pool, trying to get it straight..and even all the way around.....there was a lot of praying going on and the Lord was gracious and we got it on the second try.....only putting one small hole in the top edge (which we forgot to patch before we put water in it....ooops!.....So it is full of water.  We had to get a new filter and now that is hooked up and ready to go.  We just need some chlorine in there and some shock and we'll be all set.  Amy and Jeremy have been in there already....and it is probably only 58 or 60 degrees.....not this momma....no way!

The pool sides buckled in spots because the wind was pulling on the cover and yanking on the sides.  Then to put the new liner on we had to take off all the top rails and the wind was strong the following day and was flopping the sides around.....eeeks!....but it is up and holding water.  Scott says that if it lasts us two more years we probably will not get another one.  we'll see....Jeremy will only be 11.  Amy will be 13 and Casey, 17.....they may still want to swim.  So that is the pool saga for now....I hope there will be no more exciting with it except plenty of swimming.

    way too long!

It seems like forever since I blogged on here.....wow!.....gee what has been happening.....well let's see....winter ended, I was diagnosed with Lupus and Fibromyalgia, our homeschool co-op program ended with a bang....including the kids getting up front with me to do a song, our art classes came to a close, I finished Randy's quilt and my sister's wallhanging, they came to visit for 4 days, we found out that the pool has no water in it and we don't know where it went, we want to get a dog, I got a dishwasher for Mother's Day (praise the Lord!), Jeremy started baseball (which is hard for me to watch) and we just got a notice from the village that we are hillbillies... hee hee..(my word, not theirs) and we need to get the broken down wood trailer out of our front yard....wow...It took them long enough, it's only been there a year or two.  That about sums things up....now it's time to go and get ready for the day....I've been up since 4:30 and we have dr.'s appt.s today and garage sales to hit and piano finally after a month and a half.   I'm tired already.....Have a blessed day everyone...

  • Quilting

Well the last two days have consisted of quilting.... I was suppose to be working on the quilt I started for my brother Randy two years ago....but instead I cleaned out my fabric bins and got sidetracked making crazy quilt squares.  So today I think I'll go to the fabric store and find fabric to go with his quilt and fabric so I can make my sister wallhangings.... I need to get two of them (the quilt and one wallhanging done before they get here in a month and a half).  We missed church today because I thought the roads were going to be bad because of ice and snow....so I slept in and when I got up the roads didn't look bad and it had quit snowing.  I feel bad.  My mom had always told me that if you didn't go to school you couldn't do or go anywhere else, in fact she use to make me either stay in bed or on the couch.  So I feel like because I missed chapel, I shouldn't go anywhere.....(naughty girl.. for shame)

Anyway, here is a picture of the quilt so far.

I think it's going to be called "Light of the World" and will have the verse on the back that says..."I am the light of the world, he who follows me shall not walk in darkness....."

My quiet time this morning was in Revelation where it talks about He is called"Faithful and True, The Word of God, King of Kings and Lord of Lords"  Awesome Lord

  • Casey Playing Piano

Casey has been taking piano from a girl that use to go to our church for approximately 4 years....off and on and I wanted those of you who aren't here to be able to hear her play.  She is doing very well and as you can tell we are proud of the young lady she is becoming.

sometimes this video goes away for some odd reason...if that is the case just go to the videos on the page and watch it from there.
